ALBINI_next has partecipated in the fourth edition of the Phygital Sustainability Expo®, a two-day event dedicated to sustainability in design and fashion.

As part of the event, Stefano Albini, the President of Albini, has joined the panel discussion about Textile Innovability, presenting a few new projects from ALBINI_next linked to the creation of alternative dyes that are developed by micro-organisms. An impressive amount of research and collaboration has gone into this project, the goal of which is the development of a palette of colours that are an alternative to petroleum-based dyes.

The projects presented:

Bayome: the project in partnership with KBCols – a manufacturer in India that’s on the cutting edge of organic, GMO-free dyes – this project aims to bring a sustainable dye alternative to the precious yarns and fabrics of the Albini Group, creating dyes produced by microbes, sourced from biodiversity-rich communities.
